This tour is a fantastic opportunity to experience some of the Galapagos Island’s highlights within the concise timeframe of seven days, ideal if you’re adding a Galapagos visit to a trip to mainland Ecuador or elsewhere in South America. You will travel by speedboat between three of the archipelago’s larger, inhabited islands along with numerous smaller uninhabited islets, and stay at three wonderful accommodations.

Spend a day visiting Santa Fé, a small uninhabited island with an arid landscape packed with exotic plants like cacti, in addition to its own subspecies of land iguana. It’s waters are exotically turquoise and its sands sumptuously golden. Observe playful sea lions at close quarters, either from snorkelling or paddle boarding.

Island hop from Santa Cruz to Floreana, an island guaranteed to spark your intrigue. It’s the longest inhabited island of the Galapagos and the site of the mysterious Galapagos affair in the 1930’s. Hike into the Floreana highlands to search for caves once used by pirates and seek out flamingos and frigate birds.

You will spend the last third of your tour on the largest island, and arguably the archipelago’s most astonishing, Isabela. Stay in wonderful beachside accommodation in the picturesque village of Puerto Villamil, from where you’ll make the short boat trip to the small islets of Las Tintoreras. Marvel at penguins, sea lions and whitetip reef sharks and even jump in the water to swim or snorkel with them, a truly magical experience. Spend some time at the giant tortoise breeding centre to learn about these fascinating reptiles and hike the Sierra Negra volcano to experience a landscape most closely resembling a distant planet.
