Day 1
Arrive in San Jose

Arrive San Jose, capital of Costa Rica. Met and transfer to your hotel, in the hills not far from the airport.

Staying at Xandari Resort. Includes Breakfast.

Day 2
San Jose

A day at leisure to acclimatise and recover from the flight and relax after your wedding. Just lounge by the pool, rest in your spacious villa, enjoy the luxuriant gardens and stunning scenery or stroll the trails in the resort’s private reserve.

Day 3
Volcan Tenorio National Park

Morning pickup for your private transfer to Volcan Tenorio National Park with its startlingly blue river and spectacular waterfall. You will be welcomed to the luxury boutique hotel with a fresh fruit punch and cool face towel. In the evening, sip complimentary sparkling wine accompanied by tasty chocolate strawberries.

Day 4
Volcan Tenorio National Park

After breakfast, embark on a tour to Arenal volcano including bathing in thermal springs and lunch. In the afternoon, relax by the pool with its four Jacuzzis (each a different temperature), then later luxuriate in a complimentary couple’s aromatherapy massage on the balcony of your own luxury casita.

Day 5
Volcan Tenorio National Park

In the morning, depart for a guided tour of Volcan Tenorio National Park, including box lunch. Walk through the cool forests to see the fabulous waterfall, lagoon and the see where the clear water meets the blue water that give the Rio Celeste its name. In the evening, enjoy a romantic complimentary candlelit dinner with personal waiter.

Day 6
Nicoya Peninsula

Pickup for a private transfer to the sunny Nicoya Peninsula. Arrive at your luxury resort, set on a hillside with Pacific Ocean views and a separate beach club on the sand. Settle in and soak up the ambience at your own pace.

Day 7
Nicoya Peninsula

This morning, choose between horse riding on the beach or zip-lining through the forest canopy. In the evening, enjoy a romantic dinner with guitar serenade.

Day 8
Nicoya Peninsula

Most of today will be at leisure, perhaps to relax by the sea at the resort’s private beach club. You could book a surf lesson if the waves are lively. At a time to suit you, enjoy a foot, neck and hand massage with our compliments.

Day 9
Poas

Take a short flight from the resort’s private airstrip to San Jose and then connect with a private road transfer up into the mountains of the Poas volcano region. Arrive at your last luxury lodge, situated in a lush valley surrounded by cloud-forested hills.

Day 10
Poas

Wake up amid cool mountain scenery and decide either to ride horses or join a guided bird watching walk to spot cloud forest species. In the afternoon, lie back and enjoy a complimentary couple’s Rainforest Aromatherapy massage - sublime.

Day 11
Poas

After breakfast, go for a guided visit to the nearby village, Los Bajos del Toro Amarillo, to experience life as led by the local Ticos.

Xandari Resort & Spa

Overview

Situated in Alajuela, a small leafy town about 15 minutes’ drive from San Jose, the boutique Xandari Resort and Spa is owned by an architect and an interior designer. It has twenty four spacious, varied and individually decorated luxury villas, all with living area, bathroom and private balcony. The resort sits within a 40-acre plantation overlooking Costa Rica’s capital, San Jose, and the central valley.

Breakfast may be served either on the balcony or in the dining room, which enjoys a splendid view over the central valley. The resort’s restaurant specialises in vegetarian meals.

Facilities include an orchard, a private reserve with trails and waterfalls, a TV room and two swimming pools.

There is an excellent spa at the resort hidden within the tropical gardens with five fully private treatment rooms and Jacuzzis offering picturesque views of the valley below.

Rio Celeste Hideaway

Overview

Located in a remote spot on the slopes of the magnificent Tenerio volcano and just outside the Volcan Tenorio National Park, Rio Celeste Hideaway offers luxurious accommodation and an excellent standard of service. The upmarket hideaway offers an intimate experience with its special location and private facilities, perfect for couples on a romantic trip.

Spacious, luxurious accommodation is split between deluxe rooms and spacious suites. The elegant Forest Celeste rooms are located within the lodge’s private tropical gardens. Each art deco room is fitted with hardwood floors, high bamboo ceilings, king or queen size beds, LCD TV and DVD player, attached private bathroom with walk-in shower and a small private garden with outdoor shower. Other amenities in the rooms include a mini-bar, telephone, tea and coffee facilities, ceiling fan and air-conditioning.

There is a good trail network through the forest in the national park close to the lodge where a natural river pool that offers safe swimming can be found. There is also a vivid blue pool naturally created where two rivers meet.

The local cloud forest is home to a great diversity of wildlife including plenty of birds, primates, coatis, reptiles and amphibians and even Baird’s tapir can occasionally be seen around dusk at the lake.

Overview
