Hotel San Jose was an excellent choice being out of Quito and close to the airport and mountains. It has a lovely old worldy and although msot of the staff spoke little English, they were all smiley and helpful and we got by well enough. The gardens were lovely with lots of trees, plants and birds... and even a llama on one occasion!
