Young Family Fun in the Seychelles
Tour Introduction
Come with your children to the stunning Seychelles islands to know why they are considered among the most beautiful in the world. Discover the contrasting attractions of the largest island, Mahe, and the small, safe, intimate island of La Digue.
Suitable for budget-conscious families with younger children, this tour involves five nights each at two simple family-friendly hotels – one small, one larger – so there isn’t too much travelling. The Mahe hotel has no restaurant and is self-catering – you probably won’t want to eat out for all meals on the larger island – and the hotel on La Digue has full facilities, with restaurant, large pool, safe sandy beach and an on-site diving and water sports facility.
The family-oriented accommodation, sublime beaches and lovely weather should ensure a happy family holiday for all by providing you and your children a taste of true tropical beauty to last you through another winter.

Tour Accommodation
Overview
Chalets D’Anse Forbans is a small, unpretentious hotel of just 14 self-catering chalets situated just back from a secluded and beautiful white sand beach in a peaceful spot on Mahe Island. The private chalets are ideal for families and those who prefer some independence.
The chalets are scattered around the hotel’s gardens with shrubs and abundant palm trees. Each chalet has outside seating and a table for those who enjoy al fresco dining. All are air-conditioned and have an open plan living, dining and kitchen room. The bedrooms are separate with modern en suite bathrooms. Plenty of storage space is provided including a digital safety deposit box.
There is no restaurant or shop at the hotel but a large shop, restaurants and various take-aways can be all reached in under a miles’ walk or short bus ride. The hotel has a good house reef perfect for snorkelling, which is easily accessed from the beach. The owners also organise and offer guests a good range of excursions around Mahe and sometimes longer trips to visit other islands.

Overview
The largest hotel on the eponymous island, the long-established La Digue Island Lodge enjoys an enviable location on beautiful Anse Reunion beach, protected by a fringing reef which provides safe bathing for families. There is a large a la carte restaurant where delicious creole and seafood dishes are offered, and there is also a poolside restaurant for lighter meals and buffets. Facilities include a lounge bar, large swimming pool, games room, boutique, bicycle hire, water sports and a diving centre offering various boat excursions to exciting Inner Island scuba sites.
Accommodation is split between very basic standard rooms, A-frame wooden chalets and a premium white washed beach house with superior rooms. The majority of the rooms are in the traditional wooden thatched-roof Plantation Chalets set within the tropical gardens a short walk from the white sand beach. Each is light and airy, with rather dated décor and simple furnishings such as a desk and seating. The chalet rooms are equipped with international direct dial telephones and satellite TV. They also have gallery bedrooms for children (accessed by a step ladder) and offer a balcony or terrace with superb sea or garden views to enjoy
La Digue Island Lodge provides a range of excursions including diving and snorkelling boat trips, and guided visits to the Verve Reserve to see the rare black paradise flycatcher (although it’s just as easy to visit it yourself). Bicycles are also available to hire for independent exploration. The lovely Anse Source d’Argent, one of the world’s most beautiful beaches is nearby and well worth a visit (there is a small fee to pay to cross a private estate to get there).
La Digue island is very relaxed and undeveloped, retaining much of its authentic Seychellois charm from days gone by.

There are a small shop and restaurant near your Mahe hotel: however, consider hiring a car (with child seats) for a few days to make it easier to get to other shops and restaurants and for independent exploration – it’s quite a big island with lots to see.
On La Digue, hire bicycles (also available with child seats) for the duration – it’s a small island and you can get around very well by pedal power.

Thank you for all your excellent coordination of the multi travel and island hopping. We really enjoyed the wildlife experience offered by the Seychelles. [Your representatives] were very good in their arrangements and organisation locally.
