The Edgemoor Hotel
Constructed in 1879 as a Grammar School for the nearby town of Bovey Tracey, the Edgemoor is today a beautifully converted, family run hotel located right on the eastern edge of Dartmoor National Park. The hotel is within a short distance of the famous Yarner Wood National Nature Reserve and the iconic Haytor as well as good transport links including Newton Abbot train station.
There are seventeen individually designed rooms with modern amenities and the main building houses a spacious restaurant serving dishes using locally sourced ingredients, and a bar where the local Dartmoor whiskey is on offer.

Local Wildlife
Nearby nature reserves are home to goshawks, pied flycatchers, redstarts, cuckoos, lesser spotted woodpeckers, adders, roe deer, stoats and a plethora of insects. Butterflies include the pearl-bordered, small pearl-bordered, high brown, dark green and silver-washed fritillaries. There are also mire, heath, moor and woodland habitats to explore. The Yarner Wood National Nature Reserve is only a 3 minute drive away.
