Northern Coast and Islands
Sipadan Mabul Resort
The resort has excellent cabins with private facilities, ample fresh water, air-conditioning and verandas. There is a good beach, swimming pool, restaurant and a bar beautifully located at the end of the pier – an excellent location from which to watch the sunset.
The diving around Mabul itself is excellent and is particularly renowned for muck diving and a profusion of macro species. However, the main attraction for divers is the world-renowned island of Sipadan with its large population of sea turtles, fabulous coral gardens and large shoals of pelagic fish.
Facilities
PADI dive school offering video services and PADI dive courses including Nitrox and rebreather diving, restaurant, lounge, bar, private facilities with hot water showers, and veranda.
Local Wildlife
Highlights include: frogfish, pipefish, fire gobies, mandarin fish, crocodile fish, flamboyant cuttlefish, ghost pipefish, many species of nudibranch, shrimp, sea urchins, crabs and lobsters.
Optional Activities
Diving and snorkelling.
