This luxurious African beach house, located in the picturesque seaside village of St. Francis Bay, offers five spacious en-suite bedrooms, all with uninterrupted views of the majestic Indian Ocean and the endless stretches of pristine coastline.

All bedrooms are air-conditioned and offer luxury and style. Each bedroom opens onto a private deck with stunning views of the beach and infinity pool below. The honeymoon suite offers an extra outdoor shower and Jacuzzi in its deck, from where spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed.

The glass-fronted Octagon Restaurant has a thatched roof, central fireplace and a surrounding timber deck which provides a breath taking 270 degree panoramic view of the bay. Octagon serves breakfast, light lunches and a la carte dinners. St Francis Bay is situated close to the Eastern Cape’s many malaria-free game reserves.

Each room includes a king sized bed, Jacuzzi bath, private balcony, mini bar and espresso machine, air co and heating, electronic safe, telephone, WiFi access, and outdoor showers in some rooms. General amenities at the hotel include room service, dry cleaning, two pool decks offering lunch and beverage service, beauty therapy treatments, steam room and Jacuzzi, ‘The Octagon’ restaurant, wine cellar, honesty bar and guest lounge.

Local Wildlife

The beach offers the chance to see many aquatic species, and an ocean safari may encounter whales (Southern Right whales being the most commonly found) and dolphins alongside many species of fish and sea birds. Pumba game reserve is home to Africa’s Big Five as well as rare white lion, hippo, hyena, cheetah, giraffes, various antelope and more than 300 bird species.

Optional Activities

The hotel is equipped with golf clubs, tennis racquets, kayaks, boogie boards and bicycles which are available for guest use. Canal tours, deep sea fishing excursions and whale or dolphin watching safaris are also available. On-land, day safaris can be arranged at the Pumba private game reserve. Wine tastings, sunset cocktails, beer tastings and nature walks are also on offer.

Excellent! The accommodation was wonderful, with ban incredible view straight over the ocean. Staff were also excellent, and breakfast particularly good.
