Ngoma Safari Lodge
Ngoma Safari Lodge is situated in Northern Botswana within the Chobe Forest Reserve bordering the western edge of Chobe National Park and overlooking the Chobe River. Ngoma Safari Lodge is located 55 km from Kasane and 135 km from the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. All 8 river facing suites have spacious internal and external living areas, a bath, an inside and outside shower, overhead fans, air conditioning, mini bar, tea/coffee facilities and an open lounge. Each of the suites will have a view of the river and offer the opportunity to see the famous Chobe elephants, migrating zebra or buffalo grazing on the floodplain below, depending on the season.
The central guest area is built adjacent to a magnificent baobab overlooking the Chobe River and incorporates a reception, guest sitting room, dining room and bar area and curio shop. Internet and communication facilities are also available as well as a swimming pool, sundeck and adjacent viewing platform.
Cultural experiences and interaction with the community are paramount at Ngoma Safari Lodge, including visits to the local school, the clinic and the village. As Ngoma Safari Lodge is situated in a forest reserve, both walking and night drives are permitted. Other activities include: game walks on the concession escorted by an armed, professional guide, game drives, birding as well as a full day game activity such as cruising on the Chobe River and driving within the Chobe National Park.

Local Wildlife
Chobe National Park is home to huge herds of elephant, buffalo and Burchell's zebra and high densities of predators such as lion, leopard, spotted hyena and cheetah. The park is also notable for the presence of more unusual antelope species like roan and sable, puku, tsessebe, eland, red lechwe, waterbuck, and the rare Chobe bushbuck. Other more popular species such as giraffe, kudu, warthog, wildebeest and impala also abound.

Our best safari to date – exhilarating, luxurious, unforgettable.
We’re seasoned wildlife travellers, and the Letaka tented safari in Botswana exceeded all expectations. The experience offered exceptional access to nature, with wildlife roaming freely and unphased through camp – lions, wild dogs, honey badgers, and hyenas all made memorable appearances. Slightly scary, but utterly exhilarating.
Our guide was outstanding – deeply knowledgeable about wildlife, birds, plants, and geology, with expert tracking skills that consistently led us to the best sightings. They positioned the vehicle perfectly for photography, respected the animals’ space, and made us feel safe and cared for throughout. The camp staff were a formidable team, attentive and respectful, with thoughtful touches like hot water bottles in bed and inventive meals despite the challenges of cooking in the bush. The tented setup was surprisingly luxurious and deeply comfortable.
Game viewing was phenomenal: wild dogs, lions, cheetahs, leopards, bat-eared foxes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a spectacular murmuration of queleas at sunset. We even explored the majestic Baobab trees in Mababe reserve – an unforgettable moment. Thank you to the entire team for a truly exceptional safari. We’re already planning our next trip.
