Kubitschek Plaza Hotel
The smart five-star Kubitschek Hotel is located in Brasilia’s northern commercial sector, just 15 minutes’ drive from the airport and within walking distance of three large shopping centres.
The hotel offers 250 well equipped, spacious rooms and suites, all with en suite bathrooms, balconies, cable TV, desk and chair, minibar, safety deposit box, hairdryer and air-conditioning.
There is a small gym, spa, outdoor swimming pool and two fine dining restaurants serving traditional Brazilian and international cuisine. Other facilities include room and laundry service and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
Brasilia was planned and designed in 1960 as the new capital of Brazil. It has a modern and unique landscape and layout. There is plenty of interesting architecture to see, much of it built by Oscar Niemeyer under orders from the president at the time. A tour of this fascinating city will also give a much greater understanding of the history of Brazil as a whole.

A tour of the Brasilia’s principle landmarks is the main attraction of any visit there. A typical itinerary might include the Esplanade dos Ministérios, Cathedral, Itamaraty Palace, National Congress, Três Poderas Square, Alvorada Palace, TV Tower, Gemas Museum, Memorial JK and Santuário Dom Bosco.

Brasilia is a year round destination, but is hottest between November and May. A stay in Brasilia combines well with visiting the Wolf Valley Camp in the Parnaiba Headwaters National Park which is only open between July and August.

A somewhat belated letter, but I thought I’d just send you a quick note to say thank you for all your work in putting together our honeymoon. We had a really great time, in great comfort, throughout our stay, and saw a huge range of different wildlife and landscapes over what was really quite a short space of time. By my reckoning, each day we saw at least one type of animal that we hadn’t seen before at any point on the trip – even in Rio!
Overall, a fantastic holiday – if we were to change one thing, it would have been to take another week, so we could have spent a little more time in each place… but who has a boss that understanding? In any case, now we have the perfect excuse to go back again when we’ve saved up enough money and holiday time.
