Haile Resort Lake Awassa
Haile is a luxurious, and stylish resort that offers stunning views of the Lake Awassa skyline. Relaxing by the exquisite infinity pool and beautiful gardens with lots of different bird species is a highlight amongst many, especially after a day out or long day of travel. The Haile Resort Awassa is the flagship property in theĀ Haile chain inspired by Ethiopia’s celebrated long distance runner Haile Gebrselassie.
The resort has 126 guest rooms that either have a lake or garden view and are presented in a timelessly elegant and well-appointed manner. All the rooms are well equipped with modern amenities including a large flatscreen TV, mini-bar and air-conditioning. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property but is limited to seventy minutes for free.
There are plenty of Restaurant and Bar options with beautifully presented and varied food should you want a different place to go each night of your stay. There is the Hawassa Breeze Open Air Restaurant, Sholla Grill Restaurant, VIP Restaurant, Traditional Restaurant, a Sunset Wine Bar, Beach Bar, Lobby Bar and Sports Bar.
There is a large infity pool in the flower rich grounds gardens to enjoy, although the pool can get busy duering weekends and school holidays. The hotel also offers a spa with sauna, steam room, massage room and gym. A stroll around the lush gardens can provide plenty of birdlife with many colourful species including sunbirds, bee eaters, hornbills and kingfishers to enjoy.
Facilities
Rooms have a safe deposit box, 42 inch flat screen TV, mini-bar, telephone, remote-controlled fan and bathroom amenities along with daily housekeeping and 24 hrs room service.
There is a complimentary buffet breakfast, free high speed Wi-Fi (only free for 70 minutes), a Health club (gym, spa, and swimming pool), Table and Ground Tennis, Basket Ball and Volley Ball. The restaurant offers a selection of both local Ethiopian and Western cuisine.
Local Wildlife
Hippos are present in the lake and vervet and colobus monkeys can be seen around the edge. The birdlife is outstanding with many species of kingfisher, African fish eagle, black crake, African jacana, terns and many migratory waders and waterfowl on the lake.
Optional Activities
Boat trips to spot Hippos, horse-riding, trips to the fish market and other nearby attractions can be arranged.

Highly recommend a boat trip on the beautiful Lake Hawassa, where you will be able to watch hippos and get close to plenty of water birds. During the evenings and early morning there can be quite a lot of midges around the lake shore, so inspect repellent can be useful.
