Fort Bazaar

Escape the hot streets of Galle Fort at this 18 bedroom renovated townhouse hotel, beautifully built around a traditional Galle Fort private courtyard boasting the acclaimed Church Street Social restaurant and bar, library, Z Spa and a private cinema coming soon… Located in the heart of Galle Fort, the Fort Bazaar is perfect for guests that are looking to soak up the Fort’s legendary atmosphere, a spot of gem shopping or walking the walls of the Fort’s 300 year old walls. Once occupied by spice, tea and gem traders, the Fort Bazaar has undergone an incredible 9 year renovation and is now Galle Fort’s newest and certainly hippest boutique hotel, restaurant and bar.

All rooms are tastefully designed and well-equipped, and the Banyan bedrooms and Upper suites both boast stunning views of the fort from their private verandas or balconies.

The hotel’s restaurant, The Church Street Social,  is heralded as one of the best on the south coast, offering a host of international dishes throughout the day and delicious middle-eastern inspired cuisine in the evenings.

“It was a very good tour in every respect…Anyone fortunate enough to get [our guide] as their guide will have met an excellent ambassador for Sri Lanka. It was a perfect mix of culture and wildlife and overall a very good mix of hotels.
