Aranya Trails

Scroll

Situated just beyond Wilpattu’s park boundary, Aranya Trails is a luxury camp from which to launch day excursions into Sri Lanka’s largest and oldest national park. Transfers to and from the lodge to the park entrance are included during your stay, along with morning and afternoon game drives within the park.

Experienced naturalist guides will escort you into the reserve’s scrub forest in search of deer, buffalo, many bird species, tufted grey langur, elephant and of course leopard. Park entrance fees are included with your stay.

The tents are more like semi-permanent cabin structures, albeit with a tented roof. They are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. A private plunge pool provides a soothing spot to refresh and unwind after a Wilpattu game drive. The beautiful, traditional main building acts as a communal space, where there are inviting spaces to rest, socialise, eat and drink.

“It was a very good tour in every respect…Anyone fortunate enough to get [our guide] as their guide will have met an excellent ambassador for Sri Lanka. It was a perfect mix of culture and wildlife and overall a very good mix of hotels.
