Explora Lodge El Chaltén

This Lodge was recently completed and opened in 2021. Eleven miles from the town of El Chaltén, it sits in the valley of the Río Electrico, with views of the Marconi Glacier, surrounding ridges and peaks. The unmistakable and mightily impressive Mount Fitz Roy lies in the vicinity, towering above turquoise lagoons.

Strategically located within the Los Huemules Conservation Reserve, the area has a wealth of possibilities for exploration and sightseeing. This includes the ginormous Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the world’s third largest freshwater reserve.

A spa has views of the surrounding ñirre forest with five open air hot tubs, two massage treatment rooms and two saunas. The restaurant’s cuisine uses seasonal, raw materials purchased from local farms that meet high agroecological standards, while particular products are carefully harvested from the wild. Typical dishes could include prime cuts of meat barbecued on a wood fire, and stews or empanadas baked in a mud oven. The bar provides a great selection of Patagonian wines in addition to craft beers and excellent cocktails.
