Each winter, during their long migration, grey whales travel south from their Arctic feeding grounds to breed, give birth, and raise their calves in these sheltered waters. Head back to the ship in the late afternoon.

Staying at National Geographic Venture. Includes All Meals.

Day 6
Los Islotes and La Paz

At Los Islotes, don flippers, a mask and snorkel (which are provided) and swim with curious sea lions. Then reposition and explore the colourful city of La Paz. Dinner of local cuisine with dancing and folklore.

Staying at National Geographic Venture. Includes All Meals.

Day 7
Exploring the Sea of Cortez

The plan today is flexible to explore the Sea's many uninhabited islands. The captain and the Expedition Leader will choose a combination of activities for the day. This might include a kayak or stand-up paddleboard at Isla San Francisco, a hike with a naturalist guide, or a visit to the abandoned salt works on Isla Carmen.

Staying at National Geographic Venture. Includes All Meals.

Day 8
Loreto/Disembark

Disembark in Loreto after breakfast and transfer to the city centre. Free time to explore, perhaps visiting the first mission in Baja California, the local museum, or the quaint shops. After lunch transfer to Loreto Airport for flights home.
